CALL TO ARTISTS: 2nd Saturday, August 9, 2008, Alley Arts Festival
Between I/J & 18/19 Streets. (Triple Size Lot)
As we may have all heard or experienced the Midtown Sacramento 2nd Saturday Arts Tour phenomenon, (15,000 people) from throughout the region come tour my neighborhood arts venues, there is no better way to make direct contact with this many people at once.
Located on a paved lot between I/J & 18/19th Streets, all artists of most all genres are invited to participate.
Artworks:
All artworks must be originals. (No crafts please).
There will be a limited number of booth spaces available (10x10) @ $25ea. No tables, easels, or tents will be provided however you may provide your own.
There will not be any "cluster" tolerated. Presentation must be pre-approved.
Set up will occur between 1:30-2:00PM on August 9, 2008 (No exceptions)

Modern Jazz, Latin Jazz, Improvisational, or Modern Swing individual or group invited.

Film:
We will be showing film shorts throughout the event (4-11PM)onboard the Busy Bus. And a feature from 8:30pm-11pm or sunset, (which ever comes first).

SPECIAL NOTES:
Each month will feature a different overall theme. This will not disqualify an exhibitionist.
eg. Aug.-"Labors of Love Sept.-Latin/Afro-Cuban Oct.-Native/Tribal/Dia De Los Muertos
Only artists with written confirmation agreement by me will be allowed to exhibit or perform.
All participating artists will be invited to the Special Guest section for complimentary beverages. Some snack food will be provided and a heated barbeque will be available for use until 8pm.

Downtown Photo contest
The Downtown Sacramento Partnership is looking for local photographers to participate in a Downtown Photo Contest. Submit a photo that illustrates your favorite reason to be downtown for a chance to have your photo and byline featured in the 2009 Downtown Calendar and be eligible to win a Downtown prize package (value at $50).
The purpose of the downtown photo contest is to showcase Downtown Sacramento's best assets and to promote Downtown as a vibrant regional destination for entertainment, culture and commerce. Photos should capture quintessential downtown experiences, events and places. Winning photos will be published in the Downtown Sacramento Partnership's 2009 calendar. The theme of this year's calendar will highlight "Top 12 Reasons to Be Downtown." Photographers are invited to submit original photos of their favorite reasons to be Downtown. The top 12 photos will be selected by a panel of judges in September and will appear in the Downtown Sacramento Partnership's 2009 calendar.
